Stormwater
Stormwater is water from rain or melting snow that does not quickly soak into the ground.
Stormwater flows from rooftops, over paved areas, and bare soil, and through sloped lawns and fields. As it flows, this runoff collects and transports soil, pet waste, pesticides, fertilizer, oil and grease, leaves, litter, and other potential pollutants that ultimately wind up in local bodies of water. In short, stormwater management is important because it can lead to pollution, erosion, flooding and many other environmental and health issues if not properly understood and maintained.
Downspouts & Sewage
Many residents have had sewage back up into their basements with all the storms we have had. Please make sure your downspouts are not connected to the sewage lines. This won’t completely solve the sewage problem but will help your neighbors. It is also illegal to have downspouts hooked up to the sewage system. Contact us if you have any questions about your downspouts.
