BOIL WATER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT – DOWNTOWN FORD CITY

Ford City Borough’s boil water advisory remains in effect for customers in the downtown service area following Monday’s major water line break and temporary loss of positive water pressure.
All repairs have been completed, and the Borough has flushed and disinfected the system in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) requirements.
Water samples have been collected and are currently being tested to confirm that no bacteria are present in the distribution system.
The boil water advisory is expected to remain in place until at least Wednesday evening, October 8, 2025, pending confirmation of two consecutive days of negative test results as required by DEP. The Borough will issue an update and notify all affected customers immediately once the advisory is lifted.
What You Should Do
Until further notice:
- Do not drink the water without boiling it first.
Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute, then let it cool before using. - Use boiled or bottled water for:
- Drinking and making ice
- Brushing teeth
- Cooking and food preparation
- Washing dishes
