BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED – DOWNTOWN FORD CITY
Date: October 9, 2025, 11:30 AM
Ford City Borough is pleased to report that the boil water advisory issued on October 6, 2025 for the downtown service area has been lifted.
Laboratory testing of water samples has confirmed that the water meets all state and federal safe drinking water standards. It is no longer necessary to boil your water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.
What Happened
On October 6, a major water line break caused a loss of positive water pressure in parts of the system. As a precaution, a boil water advisory was issued in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) requirements.
Borough crews repaired the break, flushed and disinfected the system, and collected water samples. Testing has confirmed the water is safe.
What You Should Do
- Normal water use may resume immediately.
- No further action is required.
