FORD CITY BOROUGH
PUBLIC NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the Ford City Borough Council will hold a public hearing during its regular public meeting on June 22, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., at Ford Memorial United Methodist Church, 1024 4th Avenue, Ford City, PA 16226, to receive public comment on the following proposed ordinance, which Council may consider for adoption, and if appropriate thereafter enact, at the same meeting following the hearing:
AN ORDINANCE OF FORD CITY BOROUGH, COUNTY OF ARMSTRONG, COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE FORD CITY BOROUGH ZONING ORDINANCE TO SET FORTH UPDATED STANDARDS AND CRITERIA FOR DATA CENTERS, DATA CENTER ACCESSORY USE, DATA CENTER AND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY CAMPUS, TO ESTABLISH PROCEDURES FOR SIMILAR USE DETERMINATIONS, TO AMEND CERTAIN SIGN REGULATIONS WITHIN ARTICLE 7, TO AMEND THE ZONING USE TABLE, AND TO REPEAL ALL PARTS OF ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH.
The proposed ordinance amends the Borough Zoning Ordinance to: (i) define data center, data center accessory use, data center and energy technology campus (“DCET”), and sensitive receptors; (ii) provide for data centers, data center accessory uses, and DCETs; (iii) provide regulations relating to data centers, data center accessory uses, and DCETs; (iv) provide for similar uses; (v) provide criteria and procedures for evaluating similar uses; (vi) amend sign regulations in Sections 7.01(G)(3), 7.03(A)(3), 7.03(B)(1), 7.03(D)(3), 7.03(F), 7.03(G), 7.04(B)(7), 7.04(B)(11), and 7.11(A), (vii) amend the zoning use table to permit data centers and DCETs by conditional use in the I2 district; and (viii) establish severability, repealer, and effective date clauses.
